Highlights from last month in the Biosphere 🌐
- Bio's $6.9M Round: Bio raised $6.9M in a fundraising round anchored by Arthur Hayes' Maelstrom Fund with participation from leading biotech and crypto investors. The funding will fuel Bio's growth into a full-stack platform for AI-driven DeSci, giving researchers, patients and the crypto community new ways to build and monetize biotech discoveries outside traditional pharma structures and faster than legacy biotech. The round coincides with the introduction of new primitives like BioAgents and new onchain funding, incentive and AI-driven frameworks to early-stage scientific research & development. - Ignition Sales Heat Up: The second and third Ignition Sales closed on the Bio Launchpad with >5M $BIO pledged by 6.1k+ participants: $BiomeAI (@BiomeAI), a BioAgent for personalized microbiome health & $eDMT (@edmtcomms), focusing on natural DMT production in the brain. Both tokens went live for secondary-market trading via AMM liquidity pools paired with BIO, and staking is live for both tokens, with more than 25% of the $BiomeAI sold in the Ignition Sale now staked. Trading and staking is available on the Bio App, via the BiomeAI page & the eDMT page. Upcoming Ignition Sales include @D1ckGPT, a BioAgent for peak male performance, VitaStem, the first IPT generated by @Aubrai_, the NEURON-GALE IPT, and a VitaDAO-funded IPT focused on modulating the longevity-linked FOXO3 gene to address degenerative disc disease.
- DeSci Lending: Bio's DeFi team proposed deploying 1.5M BIO to bootstrap a lending market for BIO on @aave V3, enabling BIO to be used as collateral for loans or to be lent out to earn yield, while deepening the integration of BIO within the DeFi ecosystem.
- Aubrai Research Funding: @Aubrai_, the first BioAgent, crossed $315K+ in monthly research funding generated from market-making fees in the $AUBRAI token. Other Aubrai agent stats include: $5M treasury, $540K funded for RMR2 study, 4,434 PoIs minted, ~4K papers ingested, 280K+ graph entities mapped. The funding is directed to the lab of Dr. @aubreydegrey and its ongoing RMR2 Life Extension study feeding data into the agent. Aubrai-generated hypotheses are now under evaluation by researchers at @vita_dao and Dr. de Grey's lab. - BioXP Updates: New rounds of BioXP were distributed in the Bio App covering yaps until September 24th. Yapping XP is now paused while a revamped system is built to better filter bots. You can still earn XP from staking Bio and Bio ecosystem tokens, with transparent staking formulas being published soon. - DeSci Singapore: Bio's flagship DeSci event gathered biotech and crypto leaders alongside Token2049 in Singapore to explore the next phase of decentralized science and AI-driven drug discovery, featuring @CryptoHayes, @aubreydegrey and $8bn Chinese biotech giant @XtalPi.

🌐 Ecosystem Updates
- VitaDAO's VitaRNA project shared new data, including successful vector designs and proposed funding to advance their lead AAV9 gene therapy for aging into non-GLP toxicology studies in non-human primates by the end of 2025. In addition, VitaDAO-backed Remedium Bio announced an R&D collaboration with Eli Lily to develop gene therapies for obesity and type 2 diabetes.
- Curetopia shared preliminary data on its ARS compound pipeline, identifying over 50 rescuers across ARS2 genes, cutting costs by 40%, accelerated work 10x, and uncovered correlations that could lead to multi-target therapies for rare diseases and broader conditions like Charcot-Marie-Tooth and aging. They are also preparing for patent filings and IP-NFT minting in Q4 2025 - learn more in their lab meeting. - Cerebrum DAO's Transfidelity project are testing compounds in human neuronal cell models and developing a stem cell model to study alpha-synuclein clumping, with final tests expected by December 2025. They also advancing the world's first tokenized brain health supplement, backed by several patents and available on Amazon and in Walmart. Cerebrum DAO also opened early access for Cerebrum Cortex, their brain health monitoring app with phase 1 of the launch introducing the BrainHealth Index, Brain Fitness Score, and ecosystem integrations.
- AthenaDAO announced AthenaBIO, an equity vehicle announced in an exclusive with FutureFemHealth, backing 15 early-stage assets in AI, diagnostics, ovarian health, and ReproTech. Their $FACC project demonstrated that their lead compound inhibits inflammation in vivo, improves follicle numbers, ovarian function, pregnancy rates, glucose tolerance, and welfare scores, with no toxicity signals, and are advancing toward PK profiling, patent filing, and a spinout. They also hosted ReproTech sessions at Infinita City in Honduras, focusing on the future of fertility & reproductive longevity.
- HairDAO is building the largest hair laboratory in the world, with 600 cryosections, 240 immunofluorescence stains and 55 follicles treated daily. They also set a new world record of largest recorded follicular stain in history of 137 sections in parallel. HairDAO also launched the HairDAO Laboratory Token (HLT), a utility token that generates creator/trading fees to fund HairDAO’s lab, complements their governance token, HAIR, and provides access to discounts and data.
- Pump Science's new platform went live on Solana on July 31 and has since enabled 69 compounds, $13 million in trading volume, $301K for research funding and 77 longevity experiments, with upcoming worm, fly, mouse and human trials. They were covered by Longevity Technology together with Rapamycin Longevity Lab and how leading aging scientist Brian Kennedy, are advancing lifespan extension through combination therapies on pump.science. They also supported the launch of $CHEMO with 100% of fees going to a sarcoma charity.
- ValleyDAO got funding approved for Tattva, Carbon-Negative Biomaterials for Modernizing Industry, including a $67K equity investment and an IP Token to bring it to market. They also partnered with the Bytes for Bites Hackathon, hosted by Bezos Earth Fund and Imperial College, offering participants access to Valley's Phlo platform to de-risk and prototype biotech ideas.
- D1ckDAO created D-Age™ to assess men's reproductive aging powered by the BioAgent D1ckGPT, focusing on factors like hormonal balance, sperm count, sleep and more. They also onboarded over 12,000 users to their BioAgent, D1ckGPT, with more than 10,000 completing the D-Age assessment.
- Quantum Biology DAO successfully tested and calibrated their quantum microscope, controlling the magnetic field it produces with Python code. They were also highlighted in Convergent Research's Fundamental Develop Gap Map v1.0 highlighting critical R&D bottlenecks and what is needed to overcome them. Their co-founder @ClariceDAiello also spoke at an event co-hosted by John Hopkins University on Quantum Computing transforming healthcare & Quantum Biology Institute is hiring a CEO.
- NootropicsDAO is advancing $PNL and $TALON for mice experiments on performance enhancement and longevity, respectively, while $PNL holders will receive airdrops of their upcoming $NDT and BioAgent launch, with $PEPNL set to convert to the new BioAgent token.
- Spectruth DAO are launching the world's first NFT-funded PTSD clinic, pioneering new ways to develop and support PTSD care. They are also developing wearable devices to monitor vital signs, serving as an early warning system for PTSD symptoms.
- DermaDAO attended DeSci Seoul, unveiling their first skin care formulations, Sun Drops (daytime UV Filter) and Moon Drops (Night Serum). They also partnered with Welshare to build a privacy-first skin health dataset.
- Molecule-supported Prima Donna, pioneering the world's first approach to regrow natural enamel via stem-cell-derived organoids, launched as one of the first IP tokens on Molecule Protocol V2, with upcoming trials testing enamel-regenerating gels, foams, and rinses. Molecule also spoke at ETHTokyo alongside Vitalik Buterin, MetaMask, ConsenSys, and others. They also ran a DeSci Residency at the Network School uniting people to collaborate and build new DeSci organizations.
- PsyDAO's BeeARD project proposed a novel hypothesis on using vasopressin nasal spray to enhance psilocybin's therapeutic effects. They also partnered with INME Wellness, a leading European provider of high-end psilocybin retreats, to fund psilocybin and longevity research through 10% of participant fees from referrals.
- SpineDAO team members presented at the Scoliosis Research Society, a prestigious event uniting spine clinicians & innovators worldwide. They also expanded their Creators Hub, seeking contributors and content creators to drive global discussions on spinal health.
