Bio Monthly (April 2025): Scientific AI Agents, Virtual Cell Model, Patient #1 Study, Fungal Biotech
Bio launched its first AI plugin for scientific research. MycoDAO and SpineDAO started their auctions. The Bio x AI Hackathon kicked off, and the DeSci Summit in Dubai brought the community together for a full day of talks.

Highlights from the past month of bio acceleration:
- Bio released the first of its AI frameworks, the BioAgent elizaOS plugin, which converts scientific papers into structured knowledge that can be used by intelligent agents to generate biological hypotheses across scientific domains.
- Bio contributed to PrimeIntellect's decentralized training run, laying the groundwork for VitaDAO to partner with Harvard Medical School's AbuGoot Lab & PrimeIntellect to build a Virtual Cell Foundation Model for Longevity Research.
- Long COVID Labs launched its first case study using a combination therapy, with Patient #1 reporting early symptom relief.
- The Bio x AI Hackathon launched with 2 months of virtual hacking to create scientific AI agents, offering over $125K in prizes. The hackathon started with an in-person kick-off event in Berlin (all talks are live here). Join the Bio Discord #hackathon-chat to collaborate with fellow hackers or submit a solo project.
