Introducing Bio/Acc Rewards: A Programmable Incentive Layer for Biotech

BIO has officially passed Bio/Acc Rewards, creating a new programmable incentive layer for biotech DAOs and onchain biohackers dedicated to our vision.
Per the BIOPSY-5 proposal, 4% of the BIO token supply (132.8M tokens) will be allocated to Bio/Acc Rewards, incentivizing bioDAOs and their members to take actions that contribute to the network's overall value. BioDAOs and users that contribute value to the network stand to accrue more network ownership via BIO tokens.
Why reward bioDAOs?
The goal of launching the BIO token is to leverage crypto-incentives to accelerate the growth of our community, as well as its research and products.
BioDAOs are the engine that powers this process, enabling key decisions around the funding, development, and eventual monetization of scientific IP.
Rewards are a crucial component to keeping this flywheel spinning.
Bio/Acc Rewards will be issued by BIO in the form of BIO tokens to bioDAOs that reach key milestones as well as individual users who help increase the value of bioDAOs (and in turn, the value of the BIO network). Network value is measured by AUM, the value of non-native assets in BIO reserves and bioDAO treasuries.
Rewards will incentivize members to contribute regularly to bioDAOs and increase economic alignment between DAO members and the BIO community. This opportunity is something missing from traditional biotech, which often revolves around closed scientific funding and incentive models.
What actions will earn rewards?
Bio/Acc Rewards incentivizes bioDAOs to achieve key milestones, including:
