How It Works

• During Curation, if enough BIO tokens are deposited by the community, the BioDAO moves onto the funding phase.

‍

• If the BioDAO’s fundraise is successful, Curators who deposited their BIO tokens with the BioDAO receive the BioDAO’s tokens at a pre-determined discount, rewarding Curators for their early support.

‍

• In Bio’s first auctions, Curators receive a discount on the project’s minimum valuation that varies based on how much is raised from the auction.

Important Note on Bridging BIO: the Bio V1 launchpad is going live as a cross-chain protocol, with BioDAO launches occurring on either Solana or Base. Curation Details

When a new BioDAO enters the Curation phase, it allocates a portion of its token supply to Whitelisted Curators and to Public Curators. Below are details on how that supply is allocated based on milestones in the Curation and Funding process.

Whitelist

• Before public curation begins, a whitelist period is offered to selected contributors. This whitelist typically includes project-affiliated individuals and large BIO holders (e.g. anyone holding ≥1M BIO).
• Whitelisted participants are granted early access and collectively can contribute up to 50% of the total curation allocation.
• This ensures that core community members and strategic partners have a chance to support the project first. (Whitelist contributions are capped by a set allocation of 50,000 BIO; any unused portion opens to the public.)

Public Curation

• After the whitelist window, the curation phase opens to all BIO holders.
• Curation lasts until the Curation threshold is met.
• BIO token holders can deposit up to 50,000 BIO tokens in a BioDAO’s Curation contract to signal support.
• Users who withdraw their deposited BIO before the conclusion of Curation may be subject to a withdrawal fee (initially set to 5%) to prevent abuse.

Funding

• Once a threshold is reached, curated BIO tokens are locked, triggering the start of fundraising.
• BIO tokens are locked for a pre-set period of time as determined by the BioDAO; for the first batch of DAOs, curated BIO will be locked for 60 days.‍
• After a successful fundraise, vesting BioDAO tokens are distributed to curators, and the locked BIO is allocated to the BioDAO for liquidity in an AMM.
• BioDAO tokens received by BIO curators are subject to a vesting period with a cliff. Initially these will be set to 6 month vesting and 3 month cliff.
• Should the BioDAO fail to raise the minimum required funds within the designated period, curators may reclaim their deposited BIO after the 60-day lock period has ended.
