Highlights from December in the Biosphere 🌐

• DeSci Goes D2C: We launched Biofy, a Shopify-style marketplace for science-backed products built and validated by research organizations in the Bio Network. Read our vision for creating D2C rails for DeSci. The first products, Moon + Sol Drops by DermaLabs, are currently live for pre-order on Biofy, with buyers earning BioXP on every purchase toward Ignition Sales.
• DeSci bridge to @BNBCHAIN: The $BIO bridge to BNB went live, marking our first step towards expanding Bio's Launchpad, Liquidity Engine, BioAgents, and Commerce Layer to BNB. BIO is now tradable on BNB via PancakeSwap, with more ecosystem tokens going live on BNB soon.
• A Gym Becomes a Lab: @Holi_Labs successfully completed its $100K fundraise for its human trial to directly comparing the effects of Velocity vs. Strength training on BDNF and brain health in humans. The HOLI token rose from its Ignition Sale valuation of $500K to a peak valuation of $5.2M. The founders of Holi Labs are an Olympic Gold Medalist and biomechanics expert & an engineer who scaled systems inside Google.
• Bio's Next Ignition Sale: DermaLabs is expected to launch in early January with the SKIN Ignition Sale seeding its community of users and scientists jointly driving skin health discovery. Derma's first live products - Moon + Sol Drops - are based on research from Fu-Hsiung Lin (Duke University) showing the skin-improving effects of pure Vitamin C and ferulic acid. Derma's team includes K-Beauty pioneer Dr. DTS (Korean dermatologist with 196K subs on Youtube).
• BioAgents Deep Research: Deep Research capabilities were deployed on Bio's scientific agent stack, bringing BioAgents closer to semi-autonomous research co-pilots, including persistent memory, iterative workflows and human-in-the-loop controls. Deep Research is live in @Aubrai_ and also integrated with x402, enabling instant stablecoin payments for scientific data and labor.
• Ecosystem Progress: $VITARNA shared new positive in vitro data, Transfidelity is validating newly identified therapeutic targets, Curetopia's ARS foundational dataset is nearing completion, & MicrobiomeDAO conducted one of the world's first observational studies on psychedelics and microbiome interactions with PsyDAO.

DeSci Goes D2C

From longevity to next-generation fertility and brain health reseearch, DeSci is rewriting how scientific research gets funded and built. Communities can now coordinate capital, data and talent at internet speed. But one critical piece has been missing: a credible way to bring that science into the real world.

Bio's new Shopify-style marketplace for research-backed health products traces every product traces back to the research behind it, the labs that tested it, and the communities that helped shape it.

For consumers, the goal is to replace opaque marketplaces and empty “clinically proven” claims with verifiable provenance - clear sourcing, visible lab data, and real feedback from early-adopters. For DeSci teams, it is a direct line to the real world: a place to launch products, learn from real usage, and collect data and insight that feed back into ongoing research.

Biofy is one layer in a system modernizing how science reaches the real world:

Holi Labs Testing Weights vs. Cardio Effect on BDNF

Bio's most recent Ignition Sale $HOLI by @Holi_Labs successfully completed its $100K fundraise for a human trial studying the effects of Velocity vs. Strength training on Brain-Derived Neurotrophic Factor (BDNF). The 12-week study will track 90+ participants at Holi's 'GymLab' in Berlin using on-site motion sensors, environmental monitoring, and regular blood testing.

If effective, Holi's research could create the reference protocol and dataset for a new class of brain-optimized training products in the $50B+ performance and longevity market. Because Holi owns the entire 'Gym-as-a-Lab' stack, each cohort plugs into the same data pipeline, creating a continuously growing licensable dataset in exercise neuroscience.

The HOLI token was launched with an Ignition Sale FDV of $500K, reached a peak FDV of $5.2M, settling at ~$2.6M at the time of this writing (5X+ up from the Ignition Sale).

Bio's Next Ignition Sale: @dermadao $SKIN is expected to launch in early January.

Skincare remains dominated by opaque claims, limited testing and research that rarely reflects real users. DermaLabs creates a pathway where users and scientists jointly shape discovery. BioAgent Deep Research

Our Scientific AI Agent Framework, BioAgents, are evolving their capabilities to perform semi-autonomous biomedical research.

Deep Research has been activated in @Aubrai_, allowing the longevity research agent to perform more comprehensive investigations and serve as a semi-autonomous research co-pilot, including:

• Discovery-driven research: iteratively generate and refine hypotheses, run parallel analyses and literature searches, and organize results around concrete, evidence-backed discoveries.
• Persistent scientific context: A structured world model tracks hypotheses, methods, and key insights, enabling coherent long-horizon reasoning without losing research state.
• Human-in-the-loop control: Researchers can approve and modify the agent’s plan in between each ‘parallel run’, combining machine-scale automation with human scientific judgment.

Researchers in the Bio Network have been testing Deep Research and we've begun using our new Scientific AI Benchmarking Framework to evaluate it.

Deep Research comes on the heels of BioAgents integrating with the x402 protocol, allowing BioAgents to instantly send and receive USDC micropayments for scientific data and labor. Globally, x402 enabled over $50m in stablecoin transactions last month, with BioAgents positioned to become a new frontier for agentic commerce in 2026.

Bio Preprint Proposes AI Scientist Benchmarks

Bio's AI team published a preprint proposing a new way to evaluate AI Scientists as research co-pilots rather than isolated task executors.

The paper arose from our work evaluating BioAgents, and the realization that current AI for Science benchmarks fail to fully capture the actual workflows of biomedical researchers. The paper is a call to expand Scientific AI Agent benchmarks and incorporate workflow benchmarks that stress-test AI like real science does. We'll introduce a benchmark soon, which addresses some of our paper's concerns.

Ecosystem Updates

• VitaDAO's VITARNA project shared new in vitro data showing their drug Artan-102 successfully fixes nonsense mutations in test cells with sixfold higher luminescence than control. VitaRNA also saw its research validated by several new studies published in Nature, including one showing immune aging following a predictable, programmable transcriptomic drift & another showing protein translation errors increasing with age.
• Curetopia spun out RaptorCo, their first onchain longevity biotech company with $250K seeded, built from their RAPTOR project that recently became the new king of the pill on @pumpdotscience with a 23% lifespan extension in flies. They also shared an ARS pipeline update, with their foundational dataset nearing completion, leading to their second spinout & their first-ever IP-NFT coming soon.
• Cerebrum DAO's Transfidelity project is validating newly identified therapeutic targets, testing derivatives of their hit compounds, & prioritizing the most promising targets. They also shared their Year in Review, covering their 4 live research projects, raising $1.4M through IPTs,  new consumer products, and their brain health supplement entering clinical trials.
• Long COVID Labs have successfully distributed their entire $100K Patient Grant Fund, making it the largest direct-to-patient funding program for Long COVID patients to date.
• MicrobiomeDAO conducted one of the world's first observational study on psychedelics and microbiome interactions, co-facilitated by @psy_dao at Edge City last month.
• PsyDAO hosted a Town Hall discussing their longevity trials with LSD and Psilocin in mice & flies, endogenous DMT research at the University of Florida, new MDMA-analog projects & more.
• HairDAO scaled immunostaining from 16 sections per day (the standard for most labs) to 622 sections in a single day, achieving a 38x increase in data generation in just four month.
• SpineDAO partnered with the AI innovator @pleiasfr to co-build a multi-agent AI stack for spine wellness. They also laid out their new structure including their commercial arm, SpineAI.
• Quantum Biology DAO are preparing flavin cofactor solutions for experiments with their bacterioscope.
• Pump Science is teaming up with DeSci News for a quest on health & wellness brands to launch on Pump Science.
• D1ckDAO hosted a meetup with Binance Thailand and introduced a new incentive system rewarding early adopters and community contributions.
• MesoReef DAO released Reef.Regen, an app for the coral restoration community to track progress, contribute data, and build impact records for funding.
• MicroDAO unveiled the beta launch of their first product, the Pathogen Catalogue, focused on global pathogen data, research insights, and industry insights. Sign up for the beta.
