🧪 VitaRNA & Percepta Advance Towards Trials

VitaRNA, backed by $91k from VitaDAO and $300k via an IPT raise, has released its first in vivo data demonstrating that their lead gene therapy candidate, ARTAN-102, successfully achieved a key safety milestone. The therapy achieved the milestone in a 14-day mouse study, showing no adverse effects and successful delivery to multiple tissues, with a 350-fold expression increase in the liver. By combining community funding with traditional drug development, VitaRNA has achieved in months what typically takes years in traditional biotech.

VitaRNA also partnered with Syenex to advance ARTAN-102, using Syenex’s VivoCell Platform for precise in vivo delivery. Next up, VitaRNA is raising $500k for primate studies, and targeting a $5M raise to reach human trials within 12 months.

Meanwhile, CerebrumDAO submitted a human clinical trial plan for ethics approval for their first decentralized clinical trial focusing on Percepta, a brain health supplement. For the trial, the team has begun sourcing pTau-217, a biomarker for Alzheimer’s diagnosis and monitoring. Trial approval is expected in July.

Testing is also progressing on various other assets in the Cerebrum DAO portfolio, as outlined in Cerebrum's recent newsletter.

🧫 New BioDAOs Joining the Bio Ecosystem

The Bio ecosystem is expanding with a new wave of BioDAOs, curated by the Bio community, funded by contributors, and seamlessly launched into liquid markets, with 6 new BioDAOs set to join the ecosystem in the coming months:

  • D1CK DAO - Rebuilding men’s health onchain
  • DogYearsDAO - Extending lifespan for man’s best friend
  • MicroDAO - Next-gen antimicrobial resistance (AMR) solutions
  • FatDAO - Tackling obesity through Gut Science
  • SpecTruth DAO - Early detection of PTSD
  • DalyaDAO - Tackling neglected diseases in low-income countries

🥼 Molecule Launched a "Github for Tokenized IP"

Molecule launched Molecule Labs, a new platform that allows onchain research teams to manage and publish data with real-time updates and visibility controls (public, token-gated, confidential), and build a verifiable track record, transforming the biotech funding landscape with enhanced transparency and efficiency.

The platform addresses the issue of inaccessible research data by giving token holders direct oversight.

🌐 Network Updates

  • Curetopia's ARS pipeline is rapidly advancing, highlighted by a successful YARS2 TargetMol screen and promising data from half of their ten target screens, indicating potential treatments for an entire family of diseases. They anticipate completing the remaining screens by the end of July and hit validation studies by September. Simultaneously, Curetopia is preparing to utilize AI for novel discoveries, initiate patent filings for their initial assets, and develop a portfolio of ARS IP-NFTs this summer, aiming to bundle them for future pharmaceutical partnerships. These efforts are foundational to their extensive ~40 ARS disease pipeline, as outlined in their Q2 Research Plan proposal.
  • Long COVID Labs founder, Rohan Dixit, shared that they are building an open-source patient data registry, powered by at-home kits and blood draws. LCL is currently researching SARS-CoV-2 viral persistence biomarkers to improve Long COVID diagnosis and management, with donors receiving COVID token airdrops as a reward. LCL also passed a proposal to conduct the COVID token's transferability in September 2025.
  • VitaDAO-funded research published in Aging Cell identified LAMP1 as a cell-surface biomarker for senescent cells, demonstrating a 2-3x increase in aged mouse organs and a 6% to 23% rise in bleomycin-induced lung fibrosis, while an antibody-drug conjugate effectively targets LAMP1+ cells, offering potential for aging-related diseases.
  • SpineDAO launched their Spinediana Quest, giving users tokens rewards for contributing to DAO's decentralized knowledge graph (DKG). SpineDAO's quest is an early example of how crypto incentives can produce powerful decentralized health datasets and AI agents that ultimately drive revenue to the DAO.
